Stress Awareness Month!

April is stress awareness month! Effectively managing stress is essential for maintaining overall well-being. Acquiring healthy coping techniques, seeking assistance from friends, family, or professionals, and participating in activities that foster relaxation and self-care are vital approaches for mitigating stress and its negative impact on both physical and mental health as we age.

This month try to incorporate a stress management technique such as deep breathing, mindfulness and meditation, and/or relaxation into your daily or weekly routine so that they become natural responses when stressful situations or events occur.

Deep Breathing:

Practice deep breathing exercises to promote relaxation and reduce the body’s stress response. Techniques such as diaphragmatic breathing or box breathing can be effective.

Mindfulness and Meditation:
