Older adults living in rural communities across New Jersey now have greater access to live, evidence-based fitness classes designed to help them stay strong, active and socially connected, thanks to a Rural Health Transformation Grant awarded to Vivo by the New Jersey Department of Health.
This grant allows Vivo to provide its innovative, virtual strength and balance program to organizations serving older adults in eligible rural counties at no cost. This program requires no extra staffing, making it easy for health providers, senior centers, community organizations and other partners to offer high-quality fitness programming.
For many older adults in rural communities, limited access to gyms or in-person exercise programs can make it difficult to maintain fitness levels, putting them at risk for falls and mobility challenges. Social isolation can also impact physical and emotional well-being.
Vivo helps to bridge these gaps by delivering live, virtual Zoom™ fitness classes, led by certified instructors who provide real-time coaching and encouragement. Each class is designed specifically for older adults, focusing on improving strength, balance, mobility and cognition and fostering a sense of community.
Since its launch, Vivo has delivered over 20,000 live classes at all fitness levels. Backed by a 98% monthly retention rate and an NPS score of 90, Vivo consistently delivers an experience participants value.
Organizations interested in expanding health and fitness opportunities for older adults in their communities can learn more about eligible counties and partnership opportunities by visiting https://teamvivo.com/nj-cbopartner/.
